Wilfred Denetclaw (SFSU) is researching how the pandemic is affecting the Navajo Nation and New Mexico, and trying to help with communication on the science to the Navajo People in the Navajo Nation and outreach to limit the spread of the virus.

The Navajo Nation covers territory of over 27,000 sq miles and inequities in access to basic infrastructure resources, like running water and electricity in reservation homes, and good roads and transportation, as well as lack of phone and internet communications present huge challenges in communication and effecting protective practices.
